The ideal assistant for our team has a calm disposition and a talent for building rapport with young patients, who may be scared or anxious.
We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care, anticipate the next step, take initiative and be able to make dental procedures as smooth as possible.
The position is part-time.
Preferably 3 days a week but could work with 2.
Monday and Wednesday are a must, which is for the pediatric dental department.
The other day would rotate between Tuesday and Thursday every week for the orthodontic department.
Responsibilities Must be able to work in a pediatric, child friendly environment Review all patient charts including; reason and necessity of visit, medical history, and x-ray requirement Verify patient information with parent or guardian, according to HIPAA privacy standards Verify the patient has consent for treatment from parent or guardian Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns Has a basic knowledge of Orthodontics, Restorative, and Hygiene Clean and sterilize all instruments following OSHA and company standards.
This includes; scrubbing instruments, packing the instruments and processing them through the statim or autoclave sterilizer Must maintain Dental Assisting License in good standing and complete the CE Credits required by state Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Current State of TN RDA License Current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification Polishing, Radiology, and Sealant Certification Dental office experience preferred Physical Demands Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching and sitting May be required to stay in a position for long periods of time Occasional lifting; moving up to 15 pounds Manual dexterity and manipulation Since this position does require working with children, a criminal background check will be required.
