About the Job:
The Insurance Verification Specialist undertakes multiple tasks with the primary focus of verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits from a variety of payors.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Verifies all patient in and out of network insurance coverage details by phone and/or electronically as appropriate.
Provides information to Corporate and Facility Admissions staff regarding patient benefits and coverage details.
Assists the Corporate and Facility Admissions staff when needed in understanding patient benefit details.
Enters and updates all insurance information clearly and accurately into records system.
Completes assigned work in a timely fashion.
Notifies supervisor of reported changes in payor details and network status of facilities.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Knowledge and understanding of how health Insurance covers required.
One or more years of insurance verification of both in and out of network coverage or medical billing office procedures preferred.
Problem solving, organizational, technical, and multitasking skills required.
