Summary
The Small Balance Supervisor is designed to provide collector and department manager support while maintaining an effective collection supervision role which would oversee a specified team of small balance, entry-level to mid-level, healthcare collection representatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Build and maintain trust and confidence of subordinate staff
Work closely with peers and managers
Effectively communicate and answer questions received by collection staff regarding all FDCPA, State and PASI rules and regulations
Effectively communicate and answer questions received by collection staff regarding all PASI policies and procedures
Effectively motivate and manage a staff of entry-level to mid-level healthcare collection representatives
Identify, assess, recognize and maintain a broad range of corporate directed, employee and department account work standards
Effectively determine and communicate deficient employee performance observations to a departmental manager for potential training and/or corrective action
Maintain department/team payroll records by performing the following: enter time edits, review and approve time cards, ensure that staff reviews and approves time cards, submit updates or changes to the payroll department in a timely manner, monitor correct use of vacation/sick time and any other payroll duties as assigned by Senior Management
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees on a Small Balance team. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor''s degree (B.A.) from four year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write report, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
NHCA or ACA Collector Certification
Computer Skills
Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point
Experience with Artiva Manager
Proficient in AS400, Meditech and FACS.
