Summary
Collect and bill industrial collections accounts in Athena for theproviders.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities
include thefollowing. Other duties may be assigned.
Call businesses to obtain the proper billing addressand re-bill claims for industrial placements
Follow up on billed claims in Athena
Collect on outstanding industrial claims fromphysician offices
Collect on hospital placed employee contract accounts
Collect on hospital placed industrial accounts

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
NHCA Collector Certification
Other Qualifications
- Ability to navigate through the internet using internet search tools
- Preferred knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 coding
- Preferred experience in a physician/clinic setting
- Previous Experience with Athena platform preferred
- Previous medical billing insurance experience preferred
